Strawberry Banana Smoothie

Hello on this shitty Saturday. I hope everyone else’s Saturday isn’t as disgusting as ours is. Mother Nature felt like being a prick this weekend. It was nice alll week and then bam when it’s the weekend and I’m not working, we have thunderstorms..i mean come on man! Any way, I have something to brighten your day today! A new recipe! :-)

Because it’s 90 degrees already, I’m in the mood for something cold and filling in the mornings..a smoothie hits the spot!

Strawberry Banana Smoothie
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 cup almond milk (or regular milk)
  • 1/2 cup spinach
  • 1 6oz container of strawberry Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 a banana (or a whole one if you like banana that much, I don’t)

photo (7) Blend all the ingredients and enjoy!!!

Now I know some of you are like ew, really spinach, but I promise you can’t taste it one bit. I was skeptical at first myself, but I thought I’d give it a whirl and what do ya know spinach will be added to more smoothies! Gives you that good vitamin boost without the taste, score!

Looks delicious I know! Be jealous or make it yourself! ;-)

See I’m too excited about a smoothie!

Well it’s off to go and wear out these two dogs of mine! I hope everyone has a great rest of their weekend and I’ll be back Monday!!! :-)

oh oh, don’t forget about the Giveaway!!! I’ll be announcing the Winner on Monday!

Things I’m loving lately

Hey friends! It’s Friday!

yes baby I’ve been reading a lot of new blogs lately and I’m loving it! You can see their lovely faces over there to the right. On some of these I’ve seen the What I’m Loving Lately posts, so I thought I’d hop on board and give you one as well! Be happy!

First and foremost I’d like to say that I am LOVING my new little vacuum!

eurekaWe have hardwood floors and two dogs…yea that doesn’t mesh well. I hate sweeping..yes HATE. So that little fella right there makes it like 10x easier to clean my floor before it needs to be mopped down!

Who plays Candy Crush around these parts? oh all of you, because it’s addicting. ok, got it. Well I’m loving this game right now, besides the fact that I can’t get past level 50…help anyone?!

photo  Next episode please!

Next of the list of lovely-ness is my new coffee creamer. Bailey’s Vanilla Brown Sugar..too bad there’s no alcohol…too much? No but really this creamer is A-MAZING!

Finally, some warm weather that is staying put. Although it’s rainy it’s still warm! Hello Summer…Spring I don’t know what happened, but ya bitched out this year buddy. Because although it says a nice high eighties, here in humidity land that means 95 or higher. So a nice causal spring woulda been nice. kthanks

Beer has taken over against Wine. Maybe because Summer is already here, in the month of may. But I’m good with going home after work and grabbing a nice cold Miller Lite outta the fridge!

Wedding planning..I don’t know if it is because we have found our venue or what but I’m getting after it with wedding planning!

And last but not least my Loving pups and of course the Hubbs!

WIAW #8 & Bulldog cute

Hello folks!

I’ve been in a funk these past couple of days…I hope I snap out of it soon! image (1) Really Bubb’s can you get any cuter! See sometimes they are just too cute for their own good!

Ok, on to food!

Well as we all know it is Wednesday again and you know what that meanss… yes, food, food, and more food! As always thanks to Jenn for hosting this link up!

I was a little lazy (as always), so McDonald’s happened. blah. I actually got their new Egg White Delight McMuffin…It’s not horrible..but not the best thing I’ve ever tasted! Canadian Bacon, Egg Whites, and White Cheddar cheese. Of course Iced Caramel Coffee was in my life this morning. I may not be able to function without coffee…Especially when I’m in this kind of funk!

Lunch was scarfed down faster than a picture could be taken..We decided on Burger King for lunch and I had TWO, yes two grilled chicken wraps. One Ranch and one Honey Mustard. They were ok. They did the trick and kept me full.

Fruit and Granola was the subject of snacks today…I’m trying people, I really am! Don’t mind my Phallic Banana.

Dinner was boneless pork chop in the waterless cookware (I still am IN LOVE with my cookware), herb and butter rice and a salad. You see that beer right there, it is fantastic, if you put an orange with it, tastes like fruity pebbles, no lie! Dinner was awesome and there is leftovers and more beer which is even better!!!

For some reason I can’t get enough of these Outshine Bars. They are delicious! Irene agrees.

Apple Peanut Butter snack bars

I have a yummy and easy recipe for you guys today! I found it at Happy Healthy Mama.

image Can I has some pleassee?!

After dinner Sunday night I was in the mood for something apple-y and sweet. I went searching on Pinterest and that’s where I found the Apple Peanut Butter snack bars! They looked and sounded a-mazing! The best part I had all the ingredients already, alllright! :-)

Apple Peanut Butter snack bars:

  • 2 cups oats
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4  cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 medium shredded apple

As far as the oats went, I only had a cup and a half left, so that’s all I used. I also am not a HUGE PB fan so I used less than 1/4 cup of that. I also didn’t know how to shred an apple…so I used my little food processor and ground that little puppy up until it was fine!

Anyywhoo.. You mix all the ingredients and smooth the mixture out in the pan and put it in the oven to bake for 20 minutes on 350 degrees. Nice and Simple, just the way I like it..(that’s what she said)..photo (41) mm good!

After the 20 minutes, take them out of the oven and let them cool completely before cutting…If you don’t wait they are still a little mushy…I made that mistake, The Hubb’s reallyyyyy wanted one! :-)

image (6) The recipe calls for 9-16 servings…Mine is 9 Servings ;-)

The bars came out very chewy! And because I didn’t use as much peanut butter the recipe called for you, you got more of the apple taste which was very nice! It hit the spot! Next time I may try coconut oil with the apples instead of peanut butter and see how they come out! I was also thinking that instead of apples use a banana for the PB and banana taste!!!!image (7) They seem to be a nice snack! I’d say two of the pieces are a good mid-day snack! I’ll have to make a double batch next time, the Hubb’s and I kind of demolished this batch!!! ;-)

photo (39)It’s always a good day with that face!

Food for thought:

~How much do you like peanut butter?

~Would you try something other than apples?
